The longstanding tradition of belly binding has cross cultural roots around the world to help support the healing process.The Bengkung method comes from the Malaysian tradition, where you wrap a big piece of cloth around your belly after giving birth. The great thing about this method is that you are completely in control of the fit since you need to wrap it yourself. After a postpartum body and abdominal healing massage, I will show you how to properly wear the bind and help you put it on for your first time.
Past clients have said it has helped with alleviating gas, feeling more lower back support during feeding or holding your baby by reducing slouching. Wearing the bind daily for for a few weeks (from day 5-7 until 40 days post birth) can prevent and relieve lower back aches and strains and helps to stabilizes loose ligaments.Binding also supports and is known to assist abdominal wall healing and diastasis recti recovery, in addition to the body's natural spine and posture realignment post birth.
